Notes From Public School - Day 101

Here is a Missionary/Teacher/Writer poem

You should see
my baobab tree.

Twice as tall
as I am now,
it’s trunk
is as big
as my leg.

My friends
tell me
they think
about me
every time
they see
my tree.

I hope
my tree
is my life
in Mali,
Berea Elementary School,
and my writing table.

Branch for shade,
Bark for rope,
leaves for cure,
fruit for food,
the baobab tree
is strong and good.

May I be
my tree
for you.
